This past winter I felt a new consciousness. I was awakened to how much time I was spending on my devices, screens, on materials and goods, and how little time I was spending in nature. During winter, my family and I went to Breckenridge, Colorado for a week where I was in awe of the beautiful mountains. I felt at peace there, surrounded by nature and all it has to offer. This experience motivated me to spend more time in nature and it also made me appreciate nature and all that it gives me and the world. Nature supplies me with fresh wholesome, fruits, vegetables, and protein. Without nature, I wouldn’t be able to look and feel my best on the inside and out. Everyday, nature is being destroyed; our fruits, vegetables, and proteins are becoming less nutritious due to pesticides, genetic modifications, antibiotics, hormones, and soil lacking nutrients. A lot of today’s diseases and illnesses can be solved by eating the earth's wholesome foods. Thus it is my goal in life, as I am entering medical school next year and eventually becoming a full time practicing doctor, to open peoples eyes to the idea that “food is medicine”. Not just any food though, food that is whole, all natural and is made my our earth. Food has the power to heal us, nature has power to heal us. Therefore, we must take care of nature so that the nature can take care of us. We must be grateful and appreciate nature and all that it gives us. The loss of nature, essentially means the loss of nature's healing powers through food. Nature has the ability to heal us, the mind, body, and spirit if we pay attention to it and lastly take care of it.
