Traditional hand soap is laden with chemicals and guess what happens to those chemicals, they get absorbed by the largest organ in your body...YOUR SKIN. Soaps now a days often contain antibacterial ingredients, which seems like a good think from a glance, but it turns out that overuse of these products can result in the development of drug-resistant "superbugs". One such antibacterial ingredient called triclosan was found to be similar to Agent Orange, the herbicide and defoliant chemical used during the Vietnam War by the US military. Triclosan can cause a variety of symptoms including decreased fertility, birth defects, damage to organs, and hormone disruption. Some other ingredients to look out for when purchasing soap is sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, ureas, synthetic colors, propylene glycol, synthetic fragrance, and ethanol. Therefore, when buying hand soap be on the lookout for these harmful ingredients or make your own soap like this one mentioned below.
