One of my goals this year is to reduce the amount of chemicals that I expose myself to on a daily basis. This includes chemicals from food, skin care products, shampoo, conditions, body wash, lotion, household cleaners, you name it. With this in mind I was on the hunt for an all natural hand sanitizer that could ward off sickness and germs during the winter time when we are especially susceptible to falling sick. I found that traditional hand sanitizers contained alcohol which end up drying out your hands more than anything. In addition, they often contain, triclosan which is a powerful antibacterial agent and when overused can lead to the development of superbugs. They also contain harmful chemicals like phthalates and parabens which can disrupt hormones.

In this all natural hand sanitizer I use Thieves essential oil which is a blend of clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus radiata, and rosemary essential oils. The smell of this essential oil always reminds me of Christmas as it radiates warmth and spice. This essential oil can be used in a variety of ways to cleanse your home, purify and neutralize the air, and help support a healthy immune function.
